ABOUT THE ROLE

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Head of Operations to our team in Dundalk, Ireland.


Reporting to the General Manager Ireland the Head of Operation’s scope includes the long-term direction operational success of the site. Ensuring efficient processes and implementing strategies that align with the organization’s goals. This role involves managing resources, budget, and personnel to drive productivity and enhance overall performance.


What a typical day looks like:

  • Reporting directly into the General Manager;

  • Manage the day-to-day function of our Irish Critical Power Operations (both production and fabrication functions) and employee productivity—building a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organisational targets are met;

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance, to ensure cohesive execution of operational plans and alignment of organizational goals;

  • Contribute to the development of the company’s corporate strategy and lead and apply business strategy within the team under your direction;

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and drive best practices;

  • Follow and continue to develop the operations strategic roadmap in line with organisational vision, goals and objectives;

  • Provide direction and leadership to the team;

  • Implement appropriate HR strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated team;

  • Be an ambassador for the business through exceptional performance, positive values and behaviours, clear communications, and collaborative organisational development;

  • Coordinate the allocation of resources, including headcount, materials, and equipment, to optimize production processes;

  • Manage the quality of our products and implement corrective action as needed;

  • Minimise any additional costs that may be incurred during the production process;

  • Manage workplace relations with Unions;

  • Performance of other duties as reasonably assigned;

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s or MBA degree is preferred);

  • Requires a minimum of 10+ years of experience in a similar role;

  • Experience with Low Voltage switchgear manufacture in a high paced, dynamic environment preferred;

  • Demonstrated ability to meet operational deadlines;

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles;

  • Experience in utilising ERP Systems highly desirable;

  • Ability to identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems;

  • Able to utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, continuously striving to improve value;

  • Possesses strong business acumen and proven ability to improve key financial results;

  • Excellent communication skills and networking abilities;

  • Strong Leadership and people management skills and abilities;

  • Strong innovation skills and creativity;

  • Ability to think strategically, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions;

  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment and ability to adjust plans as necessary;

  • Eligible to work in Ireland/Relocation may be considered.
